General Description The Sr. Manager – Apps, Content & Services (C&S) Business Development is responsible for the sell in and management of all new applications, services and content to one of our major carrier customers as well as identifying areas of mutual collaboration. This person is also responsible for identifying and understanding carrier’s Content & Services strategy, as well as developing areas of collaboration with the carrier. He/she will provide requirements to R&D to better align our Content & Services roadmap with the needs of the carrier. Samsung Content & Service examples include Bixby, Samsung Pay, Samsung Cloud, Samsung Health, Samsung +, MaaP, and many others that are existing or under development. This is a critical role in expanding the presence of Samsung Services in our carrier partner devices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Identify and become the Account’s SME for Samsung’s Apps, Features, Content and Services that need to be introduced to the carrier customer. Influence, execute and manage content and services roadmap that delivers on product vision and strategy across devices. Work with cross-functional teams to customize products as needed. Monitor VOC and provide feedback as required. Negotiate with the carrier customer to ensure Samsung apps, features, content & services are preloaded onto devices. Lead the introduction and value proposition messaging of all new content and services to the carrier customer. Contribute to the strategic development, ongoing refinement & execution of the services product roadmap. Analyze proprietary carrier applications to understand impact on Samsung portfolio and identify areas of collaboration if any. Become subject matter expert on carrier customer’s Content & Service requirements for all of Samsung. Ambassador for the carrier customer on C&S (as required) within the greater Samsung organization. Understand the competitive mobile applications/services landscape and develop a point of view on the future of the industry and what it means for Samsung and the carrier customers product roadmaps. Lead services research and analyze research results data to determine overall success and engagement for preloaded and downloadable products on carrier customer devices. Track feature adoption, identify user behavior and then feed this knowledge back into product design and requirements. Influence product iteration, optimizing consumer facing experience.
Background / Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 12-15 years of related experience. Master degree preferred. Must have demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with consumer mobile products (smartphone, tablet, productivity, wearables) and the underlying wireless technologies. Broad and deep understanding of mobile software features, applications and services in both the Android and Tizen OS environments. Strong understanding of the wireless software ecosystem is a must, including OS providers, app providers, service providers, OEMs and carriers. Carrier Content & Services knowledge/experience highly desirable. Must have 7-10 years of work experience in Business Development, Design, Product Management or Product Marketing in consumer electronics or related technology industry. Demonstrated success in the negotiation and sell in of apps, software applications and services to wireless carriers.
