This position is responsible for all collection activities for either the Bankcard (consumer and commercial), or Installment Loan (direct or indirect) portfolios. They will establish and monitor key risk controls, performance, and productivity. They will ensure compliance with department and bank policies. They will follow FDCPA, OCC, Visa, Mastercard, federal, and state regulations. They will ensure that regulations set forth by Commerce’s Legal, Compliance, and Risk Departments including but not limited to Sarbanes Oxley Act are adhered to.
The manager is required to plan, organize, staff, lead, and manage the department while ensuring customer satisfaction on delivery and quality. They will be expected to provide exemplary customer service to both internal and external customers at all times. They will manage unit costs while trying to reduce expenses. The position has a direct financial impact on the business lines referenced above, and will work on various special projects as needed.
Must have a minimum of 5 years management experience – preferably in collections, recovery, banking, or in the financial industry. They must have strong leadership and analytical skills. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate with all employee levels, and handle escalated customer issues. A strong understanding of consumer regulations and compliance is preferred. A four year college degree and/or work experience in a similar position is required.
