A Consulting Solutions Engineer supports the pre-sales process for our software solutions sales team for customers who require business software solutions. Activities of this position include:

  • Building relationships with potential customers, current customers and sales partners
  • Deliver presentations and demonstrations to articulate features and differentiators of all Solutions software products
  • Understand a prospect's needs and design solutions for them, write proposals and strategize with Account Teams to drive sales
  • Configure/customize demo solutions at customer locations.
  • Develop a Solution Design that meets Customer's needs


Candidates must have presentation, excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, and have enterprise software pre-sales experience.

  • Identify key solution elements of RFP/RFIs, including technical implications thereof
  • Write proposal response to RFP/RFIs succinctly in a compelling manner
  • Review engineering solutions for accuracy and compliance
  • Work with engineering to ensure compliance of proposed solution
  • Expert proposal writing skills to include rewriting/editing key elements of technical solution description in a compelling manner to deliver superior, differentiated solutions
  • Ability to drill down into the details, dependencies and implications while being cognizant of/and working towards big-picture aspects of the proposal


Are you up to the challenge?

  • Technical Lead on Targeted Opportunities – from Capture through Proposal and to Submission
  • End-to-End solutions development, including, but not limited to include Systems Integration Requirements, improved Indoor Coverage
  • Technical writing and editing to create a compelling technical/management response
  • Work closely with the Sales/BD and Engineering Team in conjunction with the Proposal Manager
  • Identify 3rd Party solutions that may enhance and/or augment solutions and maintain an ongoing catalog of technical options
  • Lead technical proposal writing and technical review meetings
  • Review, edit and refine outlines, storyboards, technical proposals (text and graphics) – ensure clarity, conformance, consistency, and completeness but go beyond it to make for a compelling narrative
  • Identify internal and external resources required for the success of the proposal effort
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of T-Mobile for Business Product/Solution offerings
  • Conduct Market Research and Competitive Intelligence studies including business case development


What You'll Do:

  • Support Sales and Customer Success as our technical expert in conversations with clients and prospective clients
  • Educate clients on how to best leverage our technology, communicating with a range of audiences from software engineers to non-technical executives
  • Help prioritize feature enhancements based on customer needs
  • Collaborate with Product teams to inform product direction
  • Collaborate with Sales to complete RFPs and security questionnaires (for Fortune 1000s)
  • Acquire market intelligence through customer conversations to inform our roadmap
  • Continually learn about the latest technologies in the e-commerce ecosystem
  • Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including time and scope involved
  • Assist Technical Marketing Engineering in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team
  • Establish a framework for necessary contributions from various departments and facilitate their collaboration in the development of customer-facing Solution Designs
  • Work alongside solution delivery teams to successfully monitor progress and customer implementations of T-Mobile for Business Solutions
  • Account for possible project challenges or constraints and proactively seek to manage challenges
  • Be a technical resource for internal territory managers as well as the customer to interface with. This may require creating solutions that help overcome technical, procedural, and political obstacles issues that arise.
  • Troubleshooting customer issues and finding sustainable solutions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently with little guidance.

  • 5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience or solution engineering experience selling a software solution in a customer-facing role, preferably in B2B SaaS

  • Experience with software engineering, customer experience and design architecture
  • Solid understanding of "how the internet works" including networks, firewalls, security, websites, database/API, etc. in a hospital or enterprise environment
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML & CSS; workflow tools such as JIRA and Salesforce
  • Experience with Enterprise Networking, Cloud Infrastructure\\
  • Track-record of maintaining technical skills and knowledge, keeping up with current technical trends, and being able to get your hands dirty at times.
  • Solid understand and practical experience working with Mobile Technology and applicability in a B2B context
  • Up to date understanding of best practices regarding system security and compliance. Working knowledge in HIPAA, PHI protection, FDA, or similar compliance such as PCI-DSS, SOX, FISMA, GLBA, etc.
  • 7+ Years working with IoT space selling experience with IoT platforms across channels/markets
  • Expertise working with ODMs, OEMs, SIs, ecosystem and/or other solution providers
  • Understanding of solution architectures and software layers to connect edge devices to cloud
  • Preferred Requirements:
  • Understanding of key IoT platform standards for both cloud and edge management software.
  • Familiarity with the creation, installation and sale of IoT platform solutions within across MCA IoT Verticals.
  • Comfortable interfacing with all levels of CxO management.
  • Affinity to work with customers to help define/develop solutions to fit their requirements.
  • Track record of driving complex competitive solution selling scenarios and negotiation skills leading to results.
