The Managing Director (MD) is responsible for consistent and profitable revenue growth in one or more practices via the following areas of focus: Revenue Growth Profitability Practice Leadership (Resourcing, Maturity, Quality Delivery) in the Business Analytics Practice

Revenue Growth

  • Develop long-term growth and profitability strategy for one or more practices including mission, points of view, offerings, competitor analysis and pricing
  • Drive revenue and profitability for the Practice, create opportunities for recurring revenue
  • Envision/cross sell across all regions and practices
  • Collaborate with sales team resources to advance or close sales opportunities across all regions
  • Lead clients in strategic "big picture" discussion (e.g. "What are you trying to accomplish? vs. technology building/implementation)
  • Foster innovation by proposing new approaches, methods or technologies

Profitability

  • Develop, review and approve all SOWs with the General Managers and Practice Directors to ensure a mutual understanding of expectations, resource allocation and profitability
  • Serve as a member of the Project Close-Out Board to identify successes and opportunities for improvement
  • Add to "Sparkhound Intellectual Property' for the Practice

Practice Leadership (Resourcing, Maturity, Quality Delivery)

  • Manage Practice Directors and hold accountable for quality delivery in project engagements (on time, on budget, identification of up-sell opportunities, etc.)
  • Develop practice assets such as:
  • Mission (e.g. answer the questions "How does my practice benefit a client?")
  • Points of View
  • Team capabilities, solution accelerators, offerings, opportunities for recurring revenue
  • Systematically plan the use of current and future resources to achieve optimum profitability
  • Lead, coach and mentor team members to drive an integrated business approach, provides opportunities for team members to learn and grow; work with HR to build a pipeline of candidates, contractors and partners
  • Manage P&L

Other Duties

  • Travels 50-70%
  • Maintain 10-35% billable utilization as determined by the practice and ELT (Executive Leadership Team)

Experience we are looking for:

  • 4-year degree (or work experience equivalent)
  • 10+ years of experience in project strategy and implementation, Project Management Life Cycle
  • 10+ years of experience with business intelligence and analytics technologies in at least one of the following four areas: business analysis, enterprise data warehousing, business intelligence, and predictive analytics.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a consulting/integrated business focused environment
  • Exhibits an advanced level of knowledge in business process design and optimization, organizational effectiveness, SCRUM methodologies
  • Experience executing and managing projects.
  • Has an entrepreneurial mindset, strong business acumen
  • Possesses strong business development skills
  • Can inspire confidence; engaging people skills
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
