What You’ll Do
Cisco’s Customer Experience group is one of the fastest growing areas at Cisco. The Collaboration team of consultants within CX focus on some of Cisco’s largest and most complex customers to ensure they operate with the highest level of cutting-edge communications. This Professional Services group helps build solutions, leads implementations, and provides constant innovation and support throughout the lifecycle of an implementation.
Who You’ll Work With
As a Consulting Engineer, you will work in the CX Collaboration Services Delivery Team with primary responsibility for design, installation, integration and custom delivery of Cisco Software products focusing on BroadWorks and related Collaboration solutions. The position will have significant customer interaction including on-site delivery for Proof of Concept projects, production pilot programs and full production deployments.
Who You Are
-You install, deploy and configure telecommunications solutions for customers, including complex network design, detailed technical documentation, and planning for future growth
-You perform complex, well-planned operations on live production customer systems with utmost attention to detail and proper procedure
-You support integration of Service Provider and Enterprise solutions with various external applications, including expertise with BroadWorks APIs as a means to facilitate platform operation
-Transfer knowledge of implemented software and solutions to the customer via hands-on workshops and customer-facing documentation
-You’re able to explain technical issues and scenarios in a concise manner to both technical and non-technical personnel
-You sustain positive, effective relationships with assigned customer contacts, as well as internal colleagues and account team members including project managers
-BS, CS or equivalent University degree in a computer science or engineering field, or CCIE certification; advanced degree strongly preferred
-5+ years of relevant work experience in network engineering or telecommunications environment
-Excellent communication skills, including conflict management, negotiation, presentation/demonstration skills, and written communication
-High level of experience with writing technical documentation, such as method of procedure documents, solution designs, installation procedures, test plans, and troubleshooting guides
-Experience with VoIP and related communication protocols (SIP, MGCP, RTP)
-Background in IP networking, including routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, IP addressing, DNS and domain management
-Experience with Unix/Linux installation, administration and operation including web and database applications (HTTP/S, XML, SOAP, SQL, PERL, PHP, SMTP, SNMP, standard security practices and encryption methodologies)
-Ability to travel for engagements 50%+ time (travel requirements vary by project)
The Consulting Engineer’s primary role is to assist and guide customers to operational goals. Ultimately our customer’s success leads to our success through repeat CX business, additional hardware and software sales, and engagement renewals. This position is key to overall customer satisfaction and ensuring customers are operating at peak capacity.
Experience/Skills: The ideal candidate will have deep technical telecommunications expertise and expert knowledge of Cisco’s BroadWorks solution.
