What you'll be doing

You will be joining CIBC’s Finance Technology team. As a Techno Functional Consultant, you’ll design, configure, and support SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Group Reporting modules to streamline financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance. You will leverage your experience with SAP S/4HANA GL, MDG, and FPSL for Sub Ledger to meet business requirements, and play a key role in mapping business processes, identifying gaps, and developing solutions for financial accounting, FX Revaluation, Accrual Engine, and PAPM. Your responsibilities will include providing production support, troubleshooting, documenting functional designs and test cases, supporting data migration activities, and preparing comprehensive documentation to support audit and compliance requirements. How you'll succeed

  • Delivery Focused – Work closely with internal partners to determine, negotiate and manage SAP FI/CO projects to agreed timelines. Deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions by analyzing and optimizing SAP processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and improved financial controls. Monitor financials, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • People Leadership – Lead and coach a high-performing team, sharing your expertise in SAP FICO implementation, migration, and maintenance. Direct, motivate, and develop your team, maximizing their contributions and professional growth. Share knowledge, collaborate, and provide guidance on complex troubleshooting and solution design.
  • Relationship Management – Build strong relationships with project teams, stakeholders, and business partners to develop and implement SAP solutions. Advise application owners on technology implementation possibilities and requirements, ensuring alignment across multiple workstreams.
  • Moderate the Solution Creation Process – Lead, facilitate, and coordinate the solution design process, including mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation of financial data during system upgrades or rollouts. Ensure alignment across business and technical teams.

Who you are

  • You are a seasoned SAP consultant. You have extensive experience in SAP S/4HANA (GL, MDG, FPSL), SAP FICO implementation, migration, and maintenance projects, and have supported multi-GAAP, multi-currency, and multi-entity accounting environments. You are comfortable with IFRS, production support, and troubleshooting, and have strong technical knowledge to debug and analyze issues independently. Nice to have: SAP FI/CO certification.
  • You have a track record of delivery. You have developed and executed unit, integration, and user acceptance test plans, coordinated with users for testing and validation, and maintained comprehensive documentation for configurations, customizations, and process flows.
  • You are detail-oriented and compliance-focused. You ensure all solutions meet audit and compliance requirements, and you have experience analyzing SAP notes and supporting data migration activities.
