Parsons is currently seeking a full time Construction Site Manager for Stations, Terminals and Tunnels for a major transit project in the Greater Toronto Region. This position will manage theconstruction administration teams for various groups within Parsons.  The successful incumbent will beresponsible for the management ofconstructioncontracts and will act as the Parsons representative for the project by managing the project in its day to day contact with the Contractor.  The successful candidate will have between 5 and 10years of relevantexperience working on major transit projects in the Greater Toronto Region.  This position requires a professional engineering license for Ontario; PMP is a strong asset. Experience withMS Project, Office, BMS and AutoCAD are requirements in this role.  Responsibilitiesinclude (but are not limited to):

  • Undertakes constructability reviews of engineering work throughout the design and procurement stages of the contract by providing advice on practical construction methods, schedules and cost effectiveness
  • Assists in the preparation of contract documents prior to going to tender and evaluates the safety, quality and environmental expertise of potential Contractors
  • Assists in developing constructionschedules and milestones
  • Assists, reviews and comments to contract specifications
  • Assists and supports various work groups during design stage
  • Ensures Contractor’s compliance and ensures the design intent and the initiation of appropriate measures to correct deficiencies; Monitors the Contractor’s constructionschedule; Identifies contract changes and manages the cost of changes and approvals
  • Assumes responsibility for the organization and performance of construction staff assigned to the contract
  • Remains vigilant to safety conditions on site and environmental compliance; takes necessary actions to correct infractions
  • Manages and administers contracts within the approved budget and schedule
  • Organizes the inspection of the Contractor’s
  • Chairs regular progress meetings with the Contractor, appropriate members of the Project support team, the Section Designer and other parties
  • Ensures that a daily record of contract activities is maintained
  • Provides input to management team in the evaluation and resolution of Contractor claims
  • Reviews and approves the Contractor’s constructionschedule; Schedules updates with participation from the Project Scheduler
  • Reviews and approves the Contractor’s requests for payment prior to submittal for approval
  • Prepares and issues the Certificate of Substantial Performance and the Certificate of Completion following receipt of necessary documentation from the Contractor
  • Liaises with the Construction Site Mangers on adjacent contracts) to confirm appropriate coordination of construction activities
  • Liaises with utility companies and municipal authorities during construction
  • Assists the Testing and Commissioning Program as required
  • Monitors Contractor’s activities in the proper disposal of hazardous materials to confirm compliance with applicable legislation and regulations
  • Maintains copies of Pre-Condition Surveys and provides any follow-up or inspection necessary during construction activities
