Responsibilities

  • Author new connected vehicle remote commands specifications for both on-vehicle modules as well as cloud-based systems
  • Brainstorm and design new 3rd party connected vehicle integrations
  • Support 3rd party partners to provide them Cloud API access to vehicle functionality and launch new integrations
  • Consider 3rd party requests for new Vehicle-Cloud API features in designing new APIs, cloud functionality, and vehicle controls
  • Triage current 3rd party integration issues
  • Direct work of cloud development teams within Ford on new cloud microservices and API controls
  • Work with stakeholders in a variety of additional organizations (legal, marketing, IT, security, advanced engineering, current model engineering, basic design, research, suppliers, etc.) to consider future use cases of Cloud APIs, such as Autonomous Vehicle scenarios, to protect for and develop future 3rd Party API solutions

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • 1+ year of experience with software development in mobile app, cloud or vehicle areas (coursework allowed)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or foreign equivalent Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • Excellent communication and people organization skills to gain input from relevant teams
  • Experience in connected vehicle features or capabilities
  • Experience in authoring either (ideally both) vehicle-side and cloud-side requirements and specifications
  • Good understanding of CAN, Telematics, wireless technology, cloud services
  • Experience working with organizationally diverse stakeholders to drive to a common goal
  • A passion for new solutions that may break current processes is a must
