Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Configuration Management Specialist will coordinate and conduct all Configuration Management/Data Management (CM/DM) activities including data/documentation maintenance, status reporting, configuration control and management of drawings, specifications, digital data, Change Control, and configuration audits.

 Other responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project specific CM/DM procedures and instructions in compliance with the corporate policies, project requirements and standards.
  • Develop cost estimates for all CM/DM activities, Work with project management and engineering leads as required.
  • Provide direction and guidance to the CM specialists assigned to the project.


Education and Experience:

Requires a high school education or equivalent, plus approximately ten years concentrated experience in the field of configuration management.

Strongly Preferred:

Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering, information management, computer science or equivalent. A minimum of 10 years of experience in CM/DM related activities for major programs. NDIA (National Defense Industrial Association) Configuration and data management Certification desired but not required. 

 Other Requirements:

Working knowledge of CM software such as CM Pro, Omnify or equivalent required. Ability to interact effectively with people of various technical abilities such as engineers, technicians, business management and customers is essential.
