Halfaker has an opening for a Configuration Management Associate to join our talented, dynamic team. The key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Establish configuration item identification processes, project change control methodology and processes, as well as configuration status accounting, and configuration verification and auditing processes in accordance with Agency/Customer guidelines
  • Support the execution of all Configuration Management (CM) activities across a large program with multiple internal team members, external project contributors, and development teams
  • Work with both internal and external customer groups to development teams that identify configuration items and ensure that they are addressed in accordance with the accepted CM Plan and processes
  • Management of individual releases of software, hardware, or other system components
  • Coordinate with quality assurance, development, packaging, and hardware teams
  • Responsible for implementing and managing release processes for code through development, test, and production environments
  • Ensure that release packages can be tracked, installed, verified and/or uninstalled or backed out if necessary
  • Manage the baseline configuration for related work artifacts
  • Control, track, and report changes to configuration items
  • Perform configuration management audits and produce reports for exception, status and metrics

Work with IT management to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments

Required Skills

  • Experience in Release Management activities and SDLC
  • Experience in Configuration Management activities
  • Experience with CMS desired
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
  • Must have extensive experience in supporting product development tools and the day to day application and operation of the tools in the suites
  • Excellent oral communication
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience implementing technology projects in the Federal space is a plus
  • Experience releasing code in Agile development environment
  • 5+ years' experience administering defect and change management software such as JIRA, Rally, ClearQuest, etc.
  • 3+ years' experience managing source control tools (Subversion, GIT, ClearCase, Endevor etc.) including ownership of source structure required for parallel maintenance and enhancement releases
  • Experience with scripting languages as Perl, Python, Unix shell scripting

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • ITIL certification
  • 5+ years' experience creating build definitions with continuous integration using tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, etc. supporting multiple software development teams, interfacing with developers and test engineers as required. Archive builds and maintain build repositories for deployment to higher environments.
