Purpose of Job

The Concierge Physician will be an energetic, driven leader responsible for the day-to-day management of clinical operations of the Health Nucleus, La Jolla.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of all clinical Health Nucleus, La Jolla staff; develop and direct multidisciplinary care teams including physicians, nurses, behaviorists, and other supporting disciplines
  • Clinically manage a diverse client population across healthcare settings and in collaboration with multidisciplinary internal and external clinician partners
  • Interview and document relevant medical history and order day-of testing
  • Return of imaging, laboratory and genetic results (training to be provided)
  • Responsible for receiving and triaging critical abnormal findings (I Rhythm / Lab Corps)
  • May be called upon to discuss Health Nucleus results with primary care provider or personal physicians of clients
  • Handle escalation of all daily clinical matters; ensure timely response to client inquiries regarding the Health Nucleus and Health Nucleus testing results
  • Manages Nurse Practitioner and serves as a clinical resource for all HN staff
  • Develop and guide quality metrics related to clinical activities
  • Drive development and ongoing maintenance of SOPs
  • Return results to VIP, Mandarin-speaking clients, which may involve telemedicine duties outside of typical business hours' clients
  • Ultimately responsible for exceptional client experience
  • Responsible for budget management, in collaboration with the Director of Finance

Minimum Qualifications (Must have)

  • Must speak (read and write?) Mandarin
  • Board Certified MD (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine) with >10 years direct clinical practice experience and >5 years of leadership experience in ambulatory clinic operations
  • Demonstrated interest and capabilities in innovation of medical care models, including continuous quality assurance and improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to directly and indirectly manage, motivate, and empower diverse clinical teams
  • Experience implementing HIPAA regulations and requirements into operational practice
  • Must have or be willing (and qualified) to obtain an unrestricted medical license for California
  • Experience or familiarity with California Corporate Practice of Medicine regulations
  • Excellent communication skills with presentation experience to internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board Certification or PhD in Medical Genetics or Genomics;
  • Relevant genomic sciences training and/or experience (e.g., clinical, academia, or industry
  • Experience as physician leader working in value-based reimbursement models (e.g., Medicare Advantage)
  • Experience and interest in healthcare informatics
  • Experience with financial oversight, budgets, and demonstrated growth
  • Experience in a start-up with business experience, Masters in Business or Healthcare Administration is a plus

Working Conditions

  • Global environment with multiple sites, which may require work beyond standard business hours
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending and kneeling
  • Clinic/Ambulatory care setting
  • Occasional travel may be required
