Job Description

McKean Defense is seeking a computer programmer to support NSWCPD programs. The candidate's responsibilities will include:

  • Development of control systems software for U.S. Navy ship programs.
  • Design, development, testing, installation, and maintenance of software.
  • Resolve software issues and bug fixes.
  • Develop, update, and review technical documentation related to software, such as test plans and procedures, troubleshooting guides, and software requirements documentation.
  • Provide support within lab and shipboard.

Required Skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Required Experience

BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

Minimum of two (2) years' of professional software development experience.

Experience utilizing Microsoft Visual Studio to develop/maintain, compile, and debug source code for .NET Framework projects in C++/CLI, Managed C++, or C#.

Experience with relational databases (SQL, MS Access) a plus.

Experience with multithreading a plus.

Experience generating technical documentation a plus.

Knowledge and familiarity with network protocols (i.e. TCP/IP and UDP) a plus.
