This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced program with DCScorp’s U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Ground Vehicle Systems Center engineering group located in Warren, MI (formerly TARDEC). As an experienced Senior Software Engineer, you will work alongside our U.S. Army customer, applying your extensive skills and experience in providing technical engineering services to support the development of software requirements, architecture, design, code and test for the Vehicle Electronics Architecture team in the development of the Next-Generation Combat Vehicles.
Essential Job Functions:
This work will include the development of modular software, integration frameworks, design, development, test of operational software products. It will involve the coordination and integration of other software activities and products from other supplying entities.
Software Development following standard software processes – organizational and industry.
Excellent communication skills are required to interface with systems and software development engineers as well as customer.
Providing guidance in creating new system/software architectures and supporting the design and development of software necessary to meet the expectations.
Integrate Software from other internal and external software development teams.
As a senior team member, the expectation is that you would be part of the resolution of miscommunications on behalf of our government customer.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 14 years of experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance.
Strong C++ and Java development experience in Linux.
Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues and to help junior developers work through theirs.
A candidate who could provide guidance on how to avoid errors in the future would be a plus.
Proficient Linux experience.
Strong UI development experience using Qt or similar in a Linux environment.
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent and eight years of experience. Preference given to candidates with advanced degrees in the same field.
Experience developing Software following a capability maturity model process.
Experience with communication methods, i.e. DDS, TCP within the Linux environment.
Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues.
Ability to write scripts in Linux such as python, shell scripts.
Experience with Atlassian tools, Bitbucket (git), Jira, and Confluence.
