POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:
The Compliance Manager is responsible for the management of compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations and statutes for their assigned area of specialty. This position may supervise other compliance associates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
•Advanced degree preferred.
•Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) required or obtained within first year and sustained.
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking, compliance, lending, project management, or a similar industry that directly correlate to job functions and responsibilities required.
•Minimum of 2 years previous supervisory experience preferred.
•Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Develop and maintain required risk assessments for assigned areas of specialty.
•Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Bank’s compliance management program and supporting procedures.
•Develop and conduct periodic compliance reviews in accordance with the compliance management program and procedures including writing and issuing findings reports to department and senior management regarding completed audits.
•Conduct follow-up reviews of corrective actions as necessary as outlined in the compliance management program.
•Develop a detailed knowledge of all compliance regulations, guidance and other regulatory commentary with assigned areas of specialty. Serve as a subject matter expert in key regulations for assigned areas of responsibility.
•Develop and manage regulatory change management initiatives within assigned areas of specialty.
•Act as the primary compliance representative in change management initiatives regarding new products, processes and initiatives.
•Act as the primary compliance representative in development or maintenance of business unit monitoring procedures and reports. Ensure reporting is provided timely.
•Manage compliance due diligence matters during mergers and acquisitions in assigned areas of specialty.
•In accordance with the Compliance Training Calendar, develop periodic training of associates to ensure they are well-versed on applicable compliance requirements in assigned areas of specialty.
•Review Bank or third party policies and procedures and ensure they are up-to-date, complete, and meet regulatory expectations.
•Serve as the primary compliance contact for business units within assigned areas of responsibility.
•Develop and maintain procedures for all areas of responsibility.
•Manage examination and audit requests, in consultation with the Compliance Officer.
•Review new products and initiatives for compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, statutes, and guidance.
•Willingly perform all other duties and projects as assigned.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
•Must be able to work independently and exercise good judgment in escalating of issues to Compliance department and business unit management.
•Must be able to make decisions regarding compliance requirements and determine potential compliance implications for various situations.
•Must have a highly developed work ethic including self-motivation, time management, organizational, and detail orientation skills.
•Must be able to manage multiple projects at once.
•Must approach tasks with a sense of urgency and adhere to assigned deadlines.
•Must have effective communication (written and verbal) skills to adequately convey reports, findings, etc. related to job function.
•Previous experience in training or public speaking a preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, and distance vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Compliance Analyst
•Compliance Analyst II

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
•Travel between Republic Banking facilities is required.
•Occasional out-of-town travel is required.
•Flexible work schedule that will include some evenings, weekends and overtime work.
•Stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory and regulatory changes.
