Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Wells Fargo Compliance is the company�s compliance independent risk management function, providing company-wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all front-line business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet compliance responsibilities, and manage compliance risks. Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for compliance risk management activities across the enterprise.

This is an opportunity to join the Wholesale Banking Regulatory Compliance (�WBRC�) Team within the Wholesale Compliance group. The WBRC Team provides group level regulatory compliance support to the Wholesale Banking businesses. This Compliance Consultant 4 role will perform oversight of and maintain a regulatory risk management program for the Federal Reserve Board Regulations K (International Operations), U (Credit for the Purchase of Margin Stock); R (Exceptions from Broker Dealer Definitions), 12 CFR Part 24 Community Development Investing, and the Bank Holding Company Act (BHCA)/Regulation Y limitation on control.

This Compliance Consultant 4 role will work closely and in strong partnership with various Wholesale Banking businesses, Wells Fargo Compliance colleagues, Wholesale Control Executives, the Legal Department, and other risk disciplines to implement policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risk. In addition, the role will provide guidance to the business in interpreting applicable regulations and providing advisory support on a transactional basis, as needed. The Compliance Consultant 4 role may also support other regulatory projects or initiatives as needed including serving as a central point of contact for one or more Wholesale Banking businesses.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

This Compliance Consultant 4 role will work closely and in strong partnership with the business Compliance leads and the control executive teams to provide strategic direction, guidance, and advisory services to Wholesale Banking on various commercial regulations including the Federal Reserve Board Regulations K (International Operations), U (Credit for the Purchase of Margin Stock); R (Exceptions from Broker Dealer Definitions), 12 CFR Part 24 Community Development Investing, and the Bank Holding Company Act (BHCA)/Regulation Y limitation on control, and compliance-related best practices and to implement key elements of the compliance program, including establishment and implementation of policies, delivery of compliance training and awareness, and creation and escalation of metrics and reporting.

Specifically, the role will:

  • Oversee and credibly challenge the reporting, escalation and timely remediation of compliance-related issues, deficiencies or regulatory matters.
  • Draft, manage the implementation and ongoing maintenance of applicable policies and standards.
  • Perform monitoring to promote compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Compliance Manager oversee and administer the Regulatory Source Owner programs for Federal Reserve Board Regulations K (International Operations) and 12 CFR Part 24 Community Development Investing pursuant to applicable Compliance Policy.
  • Sustain a strong risk culture that identifies and provides oversight and escalation of existing and emerging compliance issues across business lines, legal entities, geographies, and jurisdictions; and escalate compliance issues to senior Compliance management.

Required Qualifications


  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

  • A Master's degree or higher
  • An active Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation



Other Desired Qualifications

  • At least 8 years� experience with commercial/wholesale bank/division, regulatory agency, law department/firm, compliance, auditing or consulting firm
  • Experience in building/designing a control infrastructure through policies, procedures, guidance documents, and training development
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
  • 8+ years of lending related financial regulations experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and
  • adaptability are important
  • Working understanding of any of the following regulatory requirements: Federal Reserve Board Regulations K (International Operations), U (Credit for the Purchase of Margin Stock); R (Exceptions from Broker Dealer Definitions), 12 CFR Part 24 Community Development Investing, and the Bank Holding Company Act (BHCA)/Regulation Y limitation on control
