POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is a key function in administering Copart's global regulatory compliance, including privacy, anti-corruption, and trade sanctions (OFAC). The position will have a heavy emphasis on privacy regulations, including the recently implemented General Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union. The compliance and privacy manager provides support to the Associate General Counsel for Corporate Governance, Mergers and Acquisitions, and International, and will have frequent interaction with leaders from Copart's different departments and regional subsidiaries around the world. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of compliance programs in the areas of privacy, anti-corruption, trade sanctions, and others.
  • Contribute to the development of compliance-related policies and training.
  • Monitor and manage a compliance and privacy dashboard with key performance indicators for management.
  • Manage and maintain documentation to evidence completion of ongoing compliance activities.
  • Perform periodic risk based assessments/analysis and determine appropriate remediation actions.

  • At least 4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably with a combination of experience working in the compliance and privacy-related functions of a corporation.
  •  Bachelor's degree required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Fast learner
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat software
  • Strong knowledge of information technology systems and processes
  • Strong knowledge of audit and assurance processes
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet tight deadlines and work with a team
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with quick response time
  • Professional demeanor with high degree of discretion
  • CCEP and/ or CIPP/E certification a plus
