Primary Responsibilities

HDR is looking for a Complete Streets Project Manager to join our Transportation Business Group in Orlando, FL. Candidates can have a background in landscape architecture, transportation engineering, transportation planning or urban design, but they must have an understanding of planning principles, context, design standards, and passion for complete streets from concept to completion. The ideal candidate should also have experience with the design of streetscapes, trails and sidewalks. They will be part of a group professionals engaged in multimodal transportation and community planning projects.


In this role, we'll count on you to:


  • Lead complete streets projects in the planning, concept and design phases for FDOT, Metropolitan Planning Organizations and local municipalities.
  • Diversify the program in Florida. This will involve growing the statewide complete streets program, helping develop and meet financial goals, and supporting the area marketing plan.
  • Take a leadership role in HDR's National Complete Streets Practice.
  • Collaborate with a large multidisciplinary team of GIS, communications, planning and design professionals to develop projects that improve communities.
  • Establish client relations and lead marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
  • Provide technical leadership in the area of complete streets design standards and planning principles.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff including training staff to use design software.
  • Assist in preparation for and participate in public information meetings and hearings.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

BS degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture or related discipline required

PE, AICP, RLA, AIA required

10+ years of experience required which must include extensive experience completing corridor planning and design projects

Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills

Strong conceptual, organizational, problem solving and research abilities

Committed to quality, improvement and promoting company values at HDR

An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Experience using design software packages such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microstation, GeoPak
