This person will be responsible for conducting evaluations and performing psychological testing of all inmates as directed by a judge to determine if they are competent to stand trial.  They will recommend a treatment facility to judge, create a restoration plan if patient will be receiving treatment in the correctional facility, ensure patient treatment plan fits his/her needs and monitor the treatment.  This Psychologist must be available for court hearings as needed.    

 

Position Requirements

  • Forensic Psychologist
  • Experience with Legal system (e.g., working with probation officers, drug, court, MH court, etc.) and understanding its processes
  • Minimum 5-years community MH experience; 3 of those years should be working with the SMI population
  • Minimum 3 years experience with substance abuse population
  • Minimum 3 years experience with co-occurring illness (MH and SA)
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with jail administration; leadership in outside agencies
  • Ability to develop community partnerships
  • Able to travel at least 50% of the time
  • Experience developing and implementing behavioral health programs/program design
  • Ability to analyze data
  • Complete reports in a timely manner
  • Understand theoretical models
  • Must obtain jail clearance at all NaphCare facilities
