The Compensation Consultant will support the growth of Grainger’s business through the design of reward programs that attract, retain and motivate top talent in the organization. This role offers the opportunity to work with Grainger’s senior leadership across multiple countries and within various business functions.Responsibilities:• Advise and influence business leaders in compensation strategy, programs and issues while balancing business acumen, reward expertise and relationship skills• Develop and analyze compensation strategies, market pricing, internal communications• Designs various business-focused solutions and programs that are aligned with overall company philosophy and drive an engaging, results-driven environment• Integrates compensation designs with the delivery of other Total Rewards processes• Ensures that consistent, equitable and market competitive total reward treatment of employees is maintained utilizing market analysis, surveys and benchmark information• Provides expertise in international pay and expatriate assignments with strong knowledge of use of relevant benchmark data• Serves as project lead on major reward programs/ initiatives including new business startup or acquisition activities• Strive to continuously improve reward processes• Mentor and coach junior members of the team
• 5-7 years of related experience working with compensation systems including job evaluation; salary survey techniques and interpretation; performance and reward systems, and involvement in organizational design• Demonstrated background in providing consultative support and facilitation in the design of reward programs at all levels and roles of an organization• Demonstrated ability to work in a Center of Excellence/ Business-Partner HR operating model• Business, Accounting, IT, HR, Statistics, or related experiencepreferred• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred but not required
