As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will partner with the Total Rewards leader, plays an important role in the development, implementation and administration of the company's compensation and benefits programs. Activities may include, but are not limited to, analysis, costing and budgeting for base and variable pay programs, group health/medical/dental/Rx coverage, sick pay, unemployment, retirement plans, disability, flexible spending accounts, service awards, vendor management, wellness and health education initiatives, and life insurance. Ensures programs are current with trends, practices, costs, and legislation. Participates in coverage, services and cost negotiations with brokers and carriers. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


  • Administer and consult with HRBPs, Recruiting and line management on Blue's compensation structures, philosophy and procedures
  • Perform regular market pricing of new and benchmark jobs; analyze market data trends and impact on Blue; ensure competitiveness of compensation programs
  • Participate in the research, design, analysis, and communications of new total rewards programs
  • Champion the annual merit planning process to include schedule, communications, budgeting, systems/tools configuration, and calibration
  • Assist in the management of Blue's benefit programs including but not limited to health and welfare plans, leave programs, retirement plans, education plans, and various employee perquisites
  • Lead the benefits function in projects planning, scheduling and execution
  • Provide a "second set" of eyes and ears on employee benefit issues, particularly those issues that may point to a greater systemic problem; assist in resolving to closure and implementation of system solutions
  • Lead the team in effective and responsive communications with managers, employees, and outside partners (e.g., vendors and consultants) including creation, messaging, and delivery of program information
  • Lead the annual benefits renewal process including vendor review and analysis of plans, provider negotiations, and plan design and refinement; develop leadership and employee communications
  • Provide on-going monitoring of legislative changes impacting benefit programs
  • Oversee various reporting activities (e.g., annual non-discrimination testing on qualified plans, participation in benefits surveys, and responding to government requests for information)
  • Maintain the total rewards team annual calendar of events and activities
  • Actively participate in the annual total rewards budgeting process as well as on-going expense management
  • Participation in development and review of new HR policies and procedures
  • Serve as backup to the leader of the Total Rewards team as needed


  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or finance required
  • 5+ years of experience with both compensation and benefit plan design and administration
  • Strong knowledge of regulations related to compensation and benefits ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FLSA, ADA, and FMLA
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong detail orientation and ability to multi-task with limited direction
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills at all levels of the organization
  • General understanding of payroll processes and HRMS configuration
  • Flexible, ability to execute well in a fast-paced, rapidly growing organization
  • Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality with sensitive employee information
  • Experience with multi-state benefits and compensation compliance and administration
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
