Position Objective:

Manage a strategic communications practice that is responsible for delivering high-quality employee communication pieces to our clients

Job Responsibilities:

1.    Supervise Associates in the Employee Communications practice

2.    Manage production of employee communication materials, including coordination of graphic designers, print and fulfillment vendors, and multi-media outlets, e.g., text messaging, videos, and other technology

    3.     Assess clients’ current communication strategy and make recommendations for change based on culture, audience demographics, timing, and budget

4.     Meet with client teams to develop/assess client communication needs and devise a communication campaign to fit client’s culture, budget, and expectations

5.     Answer communications-related RFP questions and meet with benefits prospects

6.    Develop communication materials/content, e.g., benefit plan introductions and plan changes, annual enrollment campaigns, health care consumerism, general and targeted benefits education (including health reform), wellness initiatives, and total rewards

7.    Have baseline technical knowledge of benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, FSAs, and HSAs. Understand the basics of health reform and remain current on new developments as they impact Lockton clients. Understand the role of account teams and how they interact with and service clients

8.    Maintain solid knowledge of communication vendors. Keep Associates up-to-date on vendor capabilities and pricing

9.    Make a positive contribution to customer satisfaction and constantly strive to improve service to account teams and clients

10.  Communicate in a positive manner to contribute to a cohesive, pleasant work environment

11.  Protect the confidentiality of information learned by performing the duties of the position

12.  Comply with Lockton procedures and policies

13.  Attend company, department, and staff meetings, as required

14.  Responsible for regular and punctual attendance


Non-Essential Duties:

    1.  Attend position related seminars/classes, as required
    2.  Perform other work-related duties as assigned


Qualifications:

1.    Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or other communications-related area or equivalent experience required

2.    At least five to seven years of communications experience with at least three years of experience in employee communications required

3.    Experience executing communication strategies across a variety of platforms and channels (print, digital, social media)

4.    Competency in the use of Microsoft Office 2010

5.    Proven aptitude and ability in the use of the English language with regard to sentence structure, punctuation, paragraph formation, grammar, and proofreading skills required

6.    Project management skills in planning and executing a communications strategy

7.    Leadership skills to include personnel management, strategic planning to develop and maintain department priorities, and ability to retain diplomacy in difficult settings

8.    Experience deploying various communication channels

9.    Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines required. Must be results-oriented with the ability to change priorities as needed

10.  Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with Associates at all levels of responsibility, along with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy

11. Must have a high comfort level working with all levels of Associates, including executives working in a deadline-driven environment


12.  Legally able to work in the United States
