Develop and implement safety-related proactive and reactive communications strategies.
Manage media relations with regard to safety issues across the United States and Canada, including drafting statements / responses and providing background information to help reporters understand Lyft's policies, features, and positions on safety.
Maintain relationships with key media, bloggers, and experts.
Apply attention to detail and be highly organized.
Work in partnership with functions across the company - including operations, legal/compliance, insurance, product, and customer experience - to ensure safety-related stories are reported accurately.
Serve as internal project manager, maintaining relationships with cross-functional partners.
Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant communications and/or public affairs experience.
Proven ability to be an effective spokesperson.
Rock solid writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and organization skills, ability to meet deadlines, a sense of urgency, and attention to detail while remaining calm under pressure.
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the representation of Lyft.
Experience managing issues and with crisis communications.
A team player with an ability to deal with the ambiguity that can come from working with many teams.
