Reporting to the Marketing Director, acts as the key point of contact for all marketing & creative inquires; oversees all internal and external communications, including the daily operations of media and marketing production for Gallaudet University, ensuring its message is consistent and engaging—including direct identified projects from project definition through development and supports dissemination and evaluation efforts; and ensures all project plans are outcome-based; and works collaboratively with marketing director, division leaders and other assigned personnel to ensure strategy progress and completion.
Communication Manager also arranges the statement of works, brings in the external talents and set project and budget requirements to ensure things run smoothly; supports the development of content that is shared via media productions; coordinates and steers various media productions from beginning to end; and works on the conception of media productions, including generating ideas and securing rights if necessary and manages multiple responsibilities simultaneously and cultivates successful cross-divisional team-based efforts.
Other main duties include reviewing and executing sponsorship agreements as well as delivering and coordinate materials for our Deaf Media relationships; preparing detailed project & media reports, press releases, and marketing materials; and provides high-level writing, editorial, and strategic communication support to the Marketing Director.
I. Supports the day to day operations and engagement of Marketing & Admissions Team members, providing support, feedback, and direction as needed.
II. Oversees the daily operations of media production for Gallaudet—including developing statement of works, booking of talent and budget requirements— to ensure things run smoothly.
III. Manages and oversees Independent Contractor paperwork and onboarding process, develops statement of works, including to process their payments.
IV. Supports internal and external campaigns and ensures the highest standards of quality are met for all materials produced.
V. Plans and recommends new project guidelines, including budgets, goals, and measurements for success.
VI. Develops and implements effective communication strategies that build customer loyalty programs, brand awareness, and customer satisfaction.
VII. Supports the development of content that is shared via creative and media productions.
VIII. Coordinates and steers various creative and media productions from beginning to end.
IX. Works on the conception of creative media productions, including generating ideas and securing rights if necessary.
X. Maintains and oversee UpWork and printing portal platform for the university wide usage.
XI. Recruits and trains new creative talents, casts, crews, and production teams.
XII. Establishes and maintains production processes to streamline operations.
XIII. Meets and collaborates with various members of the creative team to ensure productions are moving in the right direction.
XIV. Creates communication and marketing strategies for new products, launches, events, and promotions.
XV. Creates internal communications protocols and initiatives that will foster employee moral, including to maintain and update our guideline, policies, and brand materials online for the university wide usage.
XVI. Oversees the creation of marketing and communications collateral to ensure that it is consistent with the organization's brand, including white papers, website copy, and more.
XVII. Works with different departments to generate new ideas and strategies.
XVIII. Consistently brainstorms new ways that media can be produced, shared, and distributed.
XIX. Supports and participates in new activities regarding Marketing & Admissions; and partners with Marketing Director to ensure client success.
XX. Works effectively on cross-functional teams and external partners to assimilate information and outline projects in our project management system.
XXI. Assists with research and information gathering for Creative Briefs, Statement of Works, and Project descriptions.
XXII. Establishes, maintains, and reviews aesthetic and editorial quality of team member productions.
XXIII. Responds to communication-related issues in a timely manner.
XXIV. Provides high-level writing, editorial and strategic communication support to the Marketing Director.
XXV. Establishes and maintains a positive and supportive working relationship with co-workers and supervisor.
XXVI. Shows a genuine commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace; and participates in activities and workshops to foster continuous learning.
XXVII. Serves as a mandatory Title IX reporter; and takes annual Title IX training as part of the compliance effort.
XXVIII. Performs other duties as assigned.
This position may be asked to work nights and weekends on occasion for Marketing and Admissions needs.
