Job Description

The Communications Manager will manage and implement a strategic communications program for the consumer replacement and original equipment tire businesses in North America. This position is responsible for providing communications support for the business leadership and marketing teams under the direction of the Director of Communications for Bridgestone Americas. The Communications Manager will deliver all internal communications activities, trade, automotive and consumer media relations programming, executive thought leadership opportunities, social mediasupport, content creation, KPI reporting, etc. Additionally, this position will craft internal and external communications materials to promote and advance other Bridgestone Americas businesses and initiatives, as needed and assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic communications plans that support the Consumer Replacement and Original Equipment tire businesses
  • Assist in development of communications programming and content that will increase earned media coverage, drive key influencer engagement and broaden visibility for Consumer Replacement products, brands and services to help drive branded unit sales
  • Leverage traditional and new media channels to educate and engage teammates about the Consumer Group's business objectives and offerings
  • Develop communications programming that supports the launch of new consumer product offerings and original equipment fitments
  • Effectively use various engagement tools, including print and design elements, websites, social media, videos and emerging communications technologies
  • Develop and monitor metrics to gauge the success of communications programming
  • Write and distribute news releases, presentations, intranet postings and memos
  • Create issues and crisis communication plans/messaging and assist in implementation if necessary
  • Effectively manage agency resources to stay on time, on budget and deliver desired results
  • Collaborate with other teammates on communications-related opportunities and marketing strategies

Qualifications

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in a communications/public relations/marketing/branding field
  • 7 plus years of work experience (or more) in communications, public relations, marketing, branding, and social media
  • Proven ability to counsel senior marketing and business executives
  • Execute creative and strategic communications plans for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent writing, editing and project management skills
  • Internal communications and change management fundamentals
  • Experience pitching and developing relationships with traditional and new media
