Responsibilities

  • Managing, configuring and troubleshooting Cisco VCS (video conferencing System) and VTC endpoints (DX70, DX80. SX10, SX20, MX300)
  • Managing, configuring and troubleshooting Cisco network devices: ASR/ISR routers, Nexus 9K switches, C4500 switches and ASA5500 firewalls
  • Managing, configuring and troubleshooting VoIP and telephony issues in a multi-vendor (Avaya & Cisco) environment.
  • Managing, configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM) and Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE)
  • Provides tier-3 level troubleshooting support for Network Operations Center
  • Monitoring network traffic, performance evaluation and capacity management using Solarwinds
  • Serves as the lead technical expert on networkinfrastructure support and maintenance activities across National Office, Regional offices, Satellite offices and all Disaster Recovery sites
  • Provides both strategic and tactical infrastructure planning for rollout/deployment of new IT services
  • Configures and maintains circuit provisioning operations, internetworking protocols that include but are not limited to: EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS and IPv6
  • Troubleshoots and maintains failover of WAN and LANnetworkinfrastructure for Disaster Recovery
  • Investigates and establishes access control and proactive networksecurity management solutions and policies
  • Plans and implements data communications components of agency migration to a consolidated data center.
  • Provides consistent review periodically on audit trails and system logs.
  • Provides expert recommendations regarding networkinfrastructure enhancements
  • Participates in design, testing, and deployment of networkinfrastructure projects
  • Installs and debugs advanced communication equipment and telecommunication services.
  • Troubleshoots network problems and outages
  • Participates in the investigation and establishment of access-security methods and policies to prevent unauthorized access
  • Assist with audits and department data calls
  • Refines the network access configuration for hardware devices and components
  • Leads the investigation and establishment of solutions for reducing network bandwidth utilization and contention.
  • Leads the development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of a WAN disaster recovery plan
  • Reviews system logs for audit purposes and report suspicious activity to Federal management

Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor’s Degree in a related area and 10 or more years of experience in the field, in related areas.
  • Certification: CCIE preferred, CCNP required 
  • 10+ years of experience in managing high-end routing protocols, secure remote access, diverse networksecurity solutions 
  • Experience supporting TCP/IP protocols and multi-protocol routers.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure environment and management policies
  • Solid hands-on experience on the following areas:
    • Demonstrated experience managing video traffic and voice over IP traffic using QoS.
    • Demonstrated hands-on experience managing networksecurity, including perimeter and DMZ’s, for large, complex organizations.
  • Strong collaborative customer service skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
  • Self-starter and able to complete tasks with minimal instructions and supervision.
  • Experience in serving as a subject matter expert, liaison, or coordinator in support of operations and project support across functional areas.
  • Expert knowledge deploying, managing and maintaining IPv6 networks.
  • Experience with dual stack implementation – coexistence of IPv4 & IPv6.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
