Job Description

Boeing is seeking a Communications Specialist (Level 4) to support Global Services’ Government Services Global Sales and Marketing organization and business priorities. The position will bring communications and branding expertise to partner closely with the sales and marketing organization in support of key government services campaigns in the U.S. and around the world.

The selected candidate will lead cross-enterprise collaboration in support of Global Sales and Marketing objectives including sales campaign support, market positioning, thought leadership, tradeshow and airshow support and development of government services content and marketing collateral. The position will partner with colleagues across the Global Services business, providing strategic leadership for internal and external communications related to Government Services sales and marketing initiatives.

The Global Sales and Marketing Communications and Branding Specialist will play a significant leadership role in collaborative marketing and communications teams that provide unified communication, marketing and branding support for Boeing’s government services portfolio. This position will partner closely with communications professionals across the Boeing enterprise, particularly international communications colleagues supporting the global services marketplace.

The successful candidate understands how to build and execute a creative communication plan from square one, and is able to translate technical or abstract data into compelling and consumable information for a wide range of audiences. The position requires strong writing and editing skills, marketing and brand acumen and the ability to learn and utilize multiple communications tools and processes.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Leads the development of strategic approaches to communication plans and branding strategies that are tailored to support enterprise and business unit goals.
  • Ensures strategies and tactics connect target audiences to those objectives and goals while positively impacting Boeing business results.
  • Identifies content and appropriate production resources and techniques for Boeing internal and external communications and co-marketing activities, and defines channel strategies.
  • Develops, seeks and uses advanced techniques for internal and external communications and branding.

Qualifications

Typical education & experience for this level (4):

Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Project or team leadership experience
  • Effective understanding of brand elements and visual mediums 
  • Experience coordinating with internal and external stakeholders on event and milestone-driven public relations activities, trade shows, etc. 
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, stakeholders and peers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years developing communications strategies that include executive speeches, employee communications, media relations, videos, web content and social media
  • 5+ years experience in media relations or professional journalism 
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate/business communications or in a communications consulting organization: 
  • Experience developing and executing enterprise-wide and targeted media plans within the context of an integrated marketing and communications approach 
  • Knowledge of effective elements of news releases, social media plans and internal employee communications 
  • Ability and demonstrated willingness to harness innovative resources to tell stories in new ways 
  • Ability to measure and analyze communication strategy and tactics to optimize effectiveness
