Qualifications

• BS or 2-year degree in electrical engineering preferred, especially with microprocessor relays experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in testing and inspecting electrical equipment, especially high voltage applications.
• Strong knowledge of power equipment testing, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Demonstrated management and supervisory skills for leading teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proven superior safety record in the field.
• Extensive experience with various electrical apparatus, including transformers, breakers, and switchgear.
• Required experience working in utility transmission substations.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, given the safety-sensitive nature of this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform substation field engineering, including developing work plans and overseeing project testing for new or modified transmission facilities.
• Review and develop isolation and restoration work plans, and prepare integrated functional test plans while leading contractors.
• Direct troubleshooting efforts to resolve deficiencies observed during functional tests.
• Update field change drawings and prepare project closure packages within 30 days of project completion.
• Provide on-site support to design engineers and construction managers regarding the customer transmission system's construction and maintenance.
• Offer technical guidance on complex or unusual issues to ensure adherence to customer design standards.
