Description

Provider of Excess and Surplus lines Commercial Property and Casualty insurance coverage seeks an Insurance Underwriter to supportunderwriting process, review applications, and process accounts & submissions.

 

Duties:

 

*** Assess new and renewal accounts to determine acceptability.

 

*** Establish types and limits of coverage to be provided.

 

*** Consult with underwriting team to determine reinsurance requirements and negotiate terms with reinsurers.

 

*** Monitor amount of insurance in force on a single risk or group of closely related risks, evaluate possibility of catastrophe losses, and recommend necessary action.

 

*** Guide and mentor junior underwriters with complex submissions.

 

Desired Experience:

 

***Bachelors degree.

 

*** 5+ years of Commercial P & C insurance Underwritingexperience with a focus on E & S lines.

 

*** Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Insurance Counselor (CIC), or similar certification.
