We have a rare opportunity for a Commercial Engine – Senior Manager, Accounting to be based in E. Hartford, CT.

The Sr. Manager will review commercial contracts, manage the Fleet Introductory Assistance (FIA) group responsible for accounting, forecasting and paying FIA and exclusivity payments on Commercial Contracts. They will have the opportunity to gain knowledge of IAE and the Commercial Engine Business including interaction with UTC, Pratt & Whitney Executives, and mangers from Campaigns, Legal, Financial Planning & Analysis, Invoicing, General Accounting and Consolidations, and Collaboration Accounting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review and provide accounting guidance on Commercial Engine Contract
  • Review Fleet Introductory Assistance (FIA) payments ~ $4B in 2017 including: Forecast reporting and reconciliations
  • Review EAC for Commercial Engine Contracts and Remaining Performance Obligations (RPO) reporting
  • Give guidance on accounting and reporting of exclusivity intangible assets for GTF programs
  • Support Audits questions on FIA and Exclusivity activity Systems
  • Exposed To: MS Office products, SAP, HFM and Access knowledge.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Finance or Accounting
  • 8+ years of experience in an Accounting role
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA is a strong plus
  • MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
  • Strong leader
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills

Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
CPA/MBA/Advanced degree a plus
