The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and driving emission control customer strategy, managing the customer relationship, and internal management to achieve Tenneco and customer deliverables. Major elements associated with this position include leading, coaching, and directing team members to develop and execute Tenneco strategy, identify and selectively secure new business opportunities at profitable levels, support successful launches, identify and drive improve platform profitability, minimize TVM give-backs, drive continuous improvement activity and serve as the voice of Tenneco to the customer and the customer to Tenneco.  Additionally, as the commercial head for NA, where GM’s home room is located, this position is expected to help coordinate alignment on global business. This position serves as the primary customer interface for all business transactions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Excellent verbal, written and professional presentation skills
  • Must demonstrate and exhibit leadership skills that can drive teams to success and work under significant pressure
  • Successful track record managing, developing and directing a high performance team
  • Must be able to interface with teams on multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities to achieve positive performance results for the organization
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with proven results dealing with and OEM or equivalent organization
  • Minimum 10 years experience in an automotive or Tier I environment (commercial or sales experience preferred)
