Team Description

Our Legal, Policy, Trust & Security teams help keep users and their stuff safe, protect Dropbox, counsel Dropboxers on challenging problems, and are always synced with the Dropbox teams they work with. We deal with novel issues every day while standing up for users and helping the company and product grow.

Role Description

As legal counsel you'll have a broad range ofresponsibilities. You will structure commercialpartnerships and negotiate inbound and outbound agreements. You will develop legal approaches and processes for our global products. And you will counsel our engineering team on product-related issues. Entrepreneurial by nature, you will have immediate impact with your analytic rigor, uncanny judgment, effective counseling, and ability to get things done.  If you are a person withuser-driven instincts who loves a challenging, team-focused, and fast environment, then this is the place for you.


  • Review, draft and negotiate all types of agreements - including inbound, outbound, infrastructure, and partnership agreements
  • Advise technical and business development teams from the initial stages of product development, through launch, to market strategy
  • Take accountability for important issues and decisions and see them through
  • Design, build, and improve legal department processes to keep up with growth
  • Build commercial strategy for product launches
  • Manage internal projects, trainings, processes, and drive cross-functional efforts to successful completion


  • 4+ years legal experience in a relevant setting
  • Experience with and passion for intellectual property law, licensing, consumer issues in the digital environment, and information policy
  • Excellent writing, communication, verbal and written, and organizational skills
  • Skilled at negotiating, drafting and interpreting technology agreements
  • Eager to learn new technologies and ideas.  Comfortable navigating complicated and nuanced issues
  • Great interpersonal skills with sound business judgement and ability to work well in fast paced team environment
  • JD, admitted to the Bar, great academic record
