General Purpose

To support, guide and act as Commercial Counsel to the Customer Team and guide the wider business in all Commercial Contractual matters acting as a liaison between the sales teams and in-house legal counsels both in the CO organization and the BGs.

Main Responsibility Area

Review, draft and negotiate all contractual documentation during pre-sales activities including to ensure e2e contract alignment and b-2-b with supplier-contracts and resolution of all commercial contractual matters during the entire contract lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drives contractual negotiations during sales phase in order to ensure optimal contract conditions and annexes
  • Facilitates professional negotiations and acts as catalyst for contract closure
  • Defines and drives the specific customer strategy in close alignment with sales teams.
  • Supports structuring offers in alignment with the sales teams.
  • Reviews and supports RfXs.
  • Drives contract drafting and keeping accurate records and managing trade-off list. Ensures favourable terms and conditions for Nokia, including facilitating contractual risk management and ensuring contract alignment with supplier contracts.
  • Clears scope definition thus reducing claims and disputes.
  • Improves cash collection life cycle by ensuring revenue recognition principles and a defined acceptance process.
  • Increases transparency in decision/deal making supporting approvals
  • Provides input to the approval process.
  • Identifies and communicates opportunities for up-sell.
  • Ensures smooth handover by ensuring contracting process continues in the deal life cycle.
  • Supports procurement in aligning contracts with suppliers.
  • Transfers contractual know-how throughout the organization.
  • Works hand in hand with legal counsels.
  • Supports contract interpretation, contract assessment.
  • Resolution of all commercial contractual matters during the entire contract lifecycle, including escalations of disputed contractual changes.
  • Supports contract changes, renegotiations and extensions with customer where required.
  • Supports finance and control team on monitoring cash collection.
  • Supports and partners the delivery teams and the sales teams in customer issues relating to the contract.

· Sales, Finance and Control, Bid Manager, Delivery and Project Managers, Legal Team, Structured Finance, Solutions Managers, Pricing Managers, Procurement

At least 10-15 year's experience in contract or project management in the telecommunications or construction industry

Required law degree/background

Advanced negotiation skills - comfortable negotiating directly with the client and 3rd parties

Legal background or experienced commercial management experience with solid understanding of the drivers of profitability.

Basic Project management experience and skills (planning, reporting, processes).

Understanding of financial management and management accounting.

Knowledgeable about the industry and related regulation.

Leadership and customer relationship skills.

Good knowledge of Nokia products/services and sales and marketing activities.

Excellent team player with good soft skills for use in cross functional and international teams

Able to read, draft and interpret complex contracts accurately.

Adept at handling and managing client personnel and internal cross-functional teams
