Perform basic laboratory functions: compare customer's sample with standard color chip; blend pigments into sample batches; and compare results with standard to determine formula required to duplicate colors.
*** Select dyes and pigments according to customer specs.
*** Record color formula and issue formula and mixing procedure.
*** Prepare color batch formula for use in manufacturing of product.
*** Compare finished matches and product with customer's sample to verify color compatibility.
*** Inspect finished material to ensure adherence to customer and plant specifications.
*** Maintain files containing color chips and formulas for each match for use as standard.
*** Assist with spectrophotometric color evaluations.
*** Provide subject matter expertise for issues related to resins, colorants, additives, and similar.
