About the Role

The Collection Operations Manager provides strategic and day-to-day leadership for raw material collection operations that are critical to PHB's manufacturing supply chain. This role is responsible for ensuring the consistent, compliant, and cost-effective collection of safe, high-quality raw materials.

You will lead supervisory staff, oversee daily and long-term operational performance, and ensure alignment with corporate objectives while maintaining full compliance with FDA, USDA, OSHA, and PHB/partner site standards.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required (Operations Management, Biological Sciences, Engineering, or related field preferred).
  • Advanced technical or leadership training preferred.


Experience:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in biological production, food/meat processing, or manufacturing operations.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience leading supervisors or managers.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing raw material supply, production planning, and regulatory compliance.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for raw material collection operations and supply continuity.
  • Lead, coach, and direct Operations Supervisor responsible for day-to-day collection activities.
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials to support manufacturing demands while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and HR to align collection operations with production, compliance, PHB values, and business needs.
  • Responsible for development and ongoing maintenance of SOPs, SSOPs and JSAs
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for compliance with FDA, USDA, OSHA, site-specific, and corporate requirements within collection operations.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to support production requirements in a cost-effective manner.
  • Manage and maintain operational performance metrics related to safety, quality, efficiency, and raw material yield; assess trends and implement corrective actions and improvements as needed.
  • Ensure collection equipment, machinery, and systems are maintained, repaired, or replaced through coordination with contractors, maintenance and leadership teams.
  • Provide oversight of critical process systems including centrifuges, liquid handling, and environmental and temperature control systems; escalate operational risks as appropriate.
  • Partner with PHB leadership to communicate operational status, risks, and performance through regular reporting and updates.
  • Support hiring, development, and performance management, for operational roles.
  • Ensure training standards are established and maintained for cGMPs, USDA, OSHA, and site regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and sponsor continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and employee engagement.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, compliance, and positive employee relations across collection operations.
  • All other duties as assigned


SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced working knowledge of regulated raw material collection or production environments.
  • Strong understanding of cGMPs, FDA, USDA, OSHA, and labor relations considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead leaders and influence cross-functional teams both internally, and externally.
  • Ability to evaluate operational data, assess risk, and make sound business decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with plant leadership and corporate partners.
  • Ability to manage complex operations, multiple priorities, and competing demands.
  • Working knowledge of basic business systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work extended or flexible hours based on operational needs.
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle as required.
