CMET Department Manager
Job Description
Fugro USA Land, Inc. is interested in hiring a CMET Department Manager in our Dallas, TX office to perform business development as necessary to grow the Dallas CMET market share.
Roles And Responsibilities
Plans and direct the CMET operations and control field personnel to maintain a cost effective, diversified, and cross-trained product group.
Manage budget in accordance with division’s projected market level.
Monitor department’s personnel utilization and adjust staff levels as necessary to meet
utilization goal.
Identify current and future equipment needs and prepare capital budget requests.
Review field-testing services to ensure tests are performed in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures.
Promote technician certification through national associations and organizations.
Be responsible for equipment maintenance program to minimize down time and to ensure current calibration.
Planmanpower needs and develop a personnel recruitment program.
Plan and administer training for improved versatility of personnel; promote career
development.
Monitor utilization and make adjustments in a timely manner.
Administer and direct performance appraisals and salary reviews; conduct performance
appraisals and salary reviews on select personnel.
Promote and administer the company safety program to ensure safe surroundings,
equipment, and work habits.
Identify potential projects through market awareness.
Market potential clients and verify current clients’ needs and concerns are met within contractual constraints
Assist Project Managers with operational requirements and costs to further evaluate job
potentials.
Support marketing goals and promotional efforts of Division Managers by assisting on
proposal preparation, client contact, and perpetuating recognition in area of expertise.
Be able to travel extensively (required), both domestically and internationally.
Monitor project schedule and costs as required achieving margin expectations.
Direct project invoicing and assist Project Managers in negotiating for extras, or changes to the original project scope.
Provide construction materials consultation to other divisions.
Provide materials engineering on larger and more complex projects.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
Possess current driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
Registered Professional Engineer preferred.
Possess or able to obtain valid passport.
Familiarity with various ASTM standards preferred.
Computer literate and basic accounting skills.
Physical Qualifications
Performs heavy work exerting up to 55 pounds of force constantly, or a considerable amount of force constantly to move objects.
Knowledge/Skill
• High school diplomas or equivalent required. Bachelor and/or Masters of Science
preferred.
• At least 10 years’ experiencerequired; at least 5 years of which is CMET related.
