VMware Government Services (VGS) is recruiting a Cloud Security Engineer to join our newly formed dedicated to growing VMware’s Public Sector Cloud portfolio. VGS promotes a culture of agility, operational rigor, visibility, accountability, and data-informed decisions. The Cloud Security Engineer will have experience with network and infrastructure security as well as experience configuring vulnerability scans and collaborating with engineers on vulnerability remediation.
Responsibilities
- Configure vulnerability and compliance scans using industry standard security scanning tools
- Evaluate vulnerability and compliance scans and collaborate with engineering to define remediations
- Ensure vulnerabilities are remediated as prescribed in VGS’s Continuous Monitoring Plan
- Collaborate with infosec to ensure that all FedRAMP controls are met
- Provide audit and continuous monitoring artifacts to compliance as required
- Evaluate change requests and ensure they do not negatively impact the security posture of VGS Services
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- 3+ year’s Experience configuring security scans using industry standard security scanning tools such as Nessus Security Center, Twistlock, Qualys, Acunetix, etc
- Experience reviewing security scans and remediating vulnerabilities
- Experience with Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
- Systematic problem-solving approach coupled with a strong sense of ownership
- Experience implementing network and security principals in production cloud environments
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience
- Knowledge of securing modern container orchestration systems: e.g. Kubernetes, Mesos, DC/OS, or Swarm
- Knowledge of securing public cloud services, such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
- Experience with Jira Service Desk or other ticketing system.
