Position Summary:
The Cloud Security Engineer has global responsibility for supporting the engineering associated with the planning, building, configuration, deployment, and run & maintain support of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s various cloud environments and migration strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain a holistic cybersecurity reference architecture for our cloud infrastructure
  • Responsible for run & maintain support of the security tools used to protect, detect, and respond to securitythreats in the Cloud
  • Manage the testing, launch, and continuous improvement of the firm’s cloud cybersecurity solutions
  • Candidate must have knowledge of cloud automation and deployment frameworks with regards to their use in highly available environments (Lambda/CloudFormation/Azure Resource Manager/Azure Functions)
  • Automation and scripting via PowerShell, Python, Perl, or Bash
  • Identifies key areas for improvement in the Cloud Workload Protection stack
  • Comfortable working with multiple operating systems
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of latest security vulnerabilities, threats, attack surface, and remediation techniques
  • Participate in Incident Response handling and analysis
  • Collaborate and motivate non-security colleagues to action
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Cloud technologies and support security documentation by providing SME input into policy, standards, and guidelines
  • Ensures excellent consistency, documentation, and process across all programs.
  • Proactively advise the business on how to maintain security posture
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Assurance, Information Security, Management Information Systems, Risk Management, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience acceptable
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered
  • Relevant cloud technical certifications a plus
  • 3+ years of experience designing and supporting Azure or AWS environments, including IaaS and PaaS
  • Experience maintaining unified security solutions across disparate cloud technologies, accounts, services, and landscapes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Occasional travel might be required
