Objective

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (CIE) will be responsible for development, maintenance, and overall health of the cloud infrastructure at PSI. The CIE will be a subject matter expert on cloud infrastructure best practices, AWS or Azure.

Job Duties

  • Research, plan, and implement new cloud infrastructure
  • Ensure all cloud activities are approached with an "infrastructure as code" mindset. Infrastructure creation should be automated and repeatable
  • Implement best practices for ensuring continued availability and security of the cloud infrastructure while providing a clear audit trail
  • Stay ahead of issues with proactive monitoring and alerting
  • Facilitate development teams diagnosing and troubleshooting problems in cloud-based environments
  • Implement best practices to ensure all cloud infrastructure is cost effective

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 4+ years of working within AWS, Azure, or similar cloud provider
  • Fluent with tools and practices which drive the Infrastructure as Code mindset

  • Passion for creating excellent software solutions and a willingness to hold both yourself and your team accountable for delivering them
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to pass a government background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS or Azure certification is a plus
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as:Source control (Git / GitHub)
  • Infrastructure as code frameworks (CloudFormation, Terraform, ARM Templates)
  • Configuration Management (Puppet, Chef)
  • CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, etc.)
  • Scripting and programming languages (Bash, Python, etc.)
  • Application Performance Monitoring (Dynatrace, Nagios, etc.)
  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, DC/OS)
  • Comfortable with Linux and Windows administration and troubleshooting
  • Comfortable with AWS services such as S3, EC2, RDS, etc.
  • Comfortable with Azure services such as VMs. Storage Accounts, Cosmos DB, etc.
