Smartronix Inc., a Premier Amazon Web Services Consulting Partner, Microsoft Gold partner and Google Cloud Platform Premier Partner, is currently seeking an experienced candidate with a strong background in cloud technologies, software development and infrastructure automation to join our expanding Cloud Services business unit and work with some of the best Cloud Architects and Cloud Engineers in the market. An ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing Infrastructure as Code and supporting DevOps initiatives. They will bring a proven ability to apply their knowledge of cloud technologies to infrastructure provisioning and automation projects.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Understand project scope, timelines, objectives and direction of overall account
  • Participate in the full project lifecycle, from planning, through implementation, to operational readiness
  • Work effectively with other team members, customers and key stakeholders
  • Take direction from, and provide clear and timely updates to, Project Lead or Project Manager
  • Deploy and configure cloud services according to best practice, with a focus on developing Infrastructure as Code and other DevOps solutions
  • Perform various software installations and configurations as necessary to the project (e.g.: SQL Server, Active Directory, Docker)
  • Draft or contribute to implementation diagrams and data flow mappings
  • Produce well-written technical project documentation
  • Maintain core working hours but remain flexible to needed after-hours maintenance windows (as necessary)
  • Be available for on-call support, and able to provide cloud and systems engineering expertise when operational issues or outages are escalated
  • Identify system or performance issues, and develop resolutions
  • Take ownership of assignments, actions items and issues, and remain accountable for their completion
  • Achieve and maintain AWS or other cloud certifications

Required Experience

  • 2+ years working with AWS services (e.g.: CloudFormation, Lambda, Batch, SQS) in an engineering capacity
  • 2+ years working or consulting directly on customer-facing project engagements
  • 2+ years working in a development-centric role
  • Hands-on experience developing and implementing Production-ready solutions through Infrastructure as Code
  • Hands-on experience building code pipelines, including tools like Jenkins and Git
  • Hands-on scripting experience - e.g.: Python, Perl, BASH, PowerShell
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible or Terraform desired
  • Baseline understanding of Docker and Kubernetes desired
  • Bachelor's Degree required or additional 4 years of relevant Information Technology experience accepted in lieu of degree
