Title: Cloud Data Architect - 38788

Your Responsibilities

As a Cloud Data Architect you will architect a Data Lake hosting platform to enable the migration and deployments of the John Deere Data Lake to the Cloud to support Enterprise Data & Analytics critical initiatives. In addition, you will:


  • Be responsible for small to large sized projects, automation, task tracking, process execution and metrics for Enterprise Data Lake workloads
  • Design, build and deliver reusable foundational frameworks for Enterprise Data Lake workloads, and drive adoption of the frameworks to enable the delivery teams
  • Design, build and deliver the operational and management tools, frameworks and processes for the Data Lake and drive the implementations into the Data Lake Cloud Operations team
  • Maintain a strong collaborative relationship with the business owners and application owners in support of business strategies
  • Partner with Data Lake Architects to identify and resolve functional gaps in the Cloud Data architecture, and define new Cloud Architecture to meet emerging Data Lake needs
  • Provide expertise to resolve critical, complex technical issues around Big Data and Analytic technology
  • Provide expert input to the business and IT for existing and future solutions in Deere's Enterprise Data Lake Platform technologies to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge. This may include possible involvement from other function architects/analysts, supply management and/or supplier personnel.

What Skills You Need


  • 7 or more years of technical experience in multiple Data Warehouse systems, Big Data and Analytic frameworks with demonstrated success in managing and administering Big DataTechnologies such as Hadoop, SPARK, HIVE, HANA, and/or AWS EMR/Redshift/Data Pipeline 
  • 5 or more years of experience with programming and scriptinglanguages (SQL, Python, Java) 
  • 5 or more years of working with Data Mart technologies, including storage, transformation, retrieval, and analysis of information 
  • 3 or more years of working withinfrastructure design, infrastructure as code, automation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis 
  • 1 or more years of working in AWS cloud computing and technologies 
  • Deep technical experience that enables engaged consulting on technology, standards, processes, and best practices in areas of expertise and regarding new Cloud data technologies 
  • Experience determining strategic roadmaps for data solutions to meet current and future needs for the Enterprise Data Lake 
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25%

  • Amazon Web Services Certifications 


Education (or equivalent work experience)

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:


  • Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience
