GovernmentCIO is seeking a Cloud Architect for the Enterprise Services contract who will work collaboratively with stakeholders and Agile Scrum team members to serve as an infrastructure technical expert to liaison with other teams as appropriate in support of the Enterprise Services and Cloud Support Initiatives for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
A seasoned cloud focused Solutions Architect must have extensive experience in the coordination of program and project leaders to identify requirements for system architecture. The candidate should have extensive experience in taking program requirements and creating an architecture vision to support high volume and high availability network systems that will be hosted in a cloud environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with the team to ensure a high standard of technical excellence is maintained across all project activities and make recommendations for the most effective application of technology to meet the customer’s needs.
The successful candidate will be a proactive, forward-leaning self-starter able to work in a fast-paced organization spread across diverse technical areas using Agile/Lean software development methodologies. The successful candidate will bring a strong cloud computing background with demonstrated technical aptitude to quickly understand new programming languages and technical concepts to communicate effectively to non-technical people via discussions, brown bag sessions, white papers, and visual diagrams.
The Architect will work with Project Managers and team Members to engage with the customer and develop a high-level operational architecture and system architecture that meets their enterprise needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for software developers, architects and engineers, including but not limited to: an understanding of enterprise computing, cloud-based architecture design patterns, especially as they apply to middleware using various platforms, technologies, and programming languages including Python, Redis, NodeJS, and Linux Shell scripts.
