Role Purpose: Under the general direction of the Manager of Quality & Safety Systems, and in collaboration with the CQI Director, the Clinical Systems Improvement Leader leads, facilitates, and manages change that produces improved clinical outcomes across St. Mary’s Hospital and our system of care. The Clinical Systems Improvement Leader interacts and works with administration, hospital employees, and medical staff. Responsibilities:

  • CQI: Understands, embraces, and practices the principles of CQIplus.
  • Performance Improvement: Develops and maintains supportive, collaborative relationships with members of clinical care teams/systems of care.
  • Performance Improvement: Teaches and mentors senior leadership and department directors to identify and improve core clinical processes.
  • Performance Improvement: Advises administration, employees, and medical staff regarding effective methods to measure and improve clinical performance.
  • Performance Improvement: Uses quality improvement methodologies and tools to plan, organize, coordinate, and facilitate interdisciplinary teams to measurably improve the processes and outcomes of clinical care and service.
  • Performance Improvement: Oversees, coordinates and assists with detailed technical work related to data collection, aggregation, analysis and display to help teams interpret results, propose possible solutions and track the progress of action plans and results.
  • Performance Improvement: Communicates team progress to Administrative Council, organizational Quality Improvement committees/councils, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a health discipline is required
  • A minimum of five years recent experience in a direct patient care role, preferably in the acute care environment, is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience in a tertiary referral center and/or integrated delivery system
