A Day in the Life

The Clinical Specialist works closely with the Territory Manager and Sales Leadership to provide in-house servicing and education to hospital staff, supports trials and evaluations, understands product portfolio to generate new sales leads, and provides general sales support to accounts across British Columbia and Alberta. This full-time field-based position located in Vancouver, Calgary or Edmonton, will support the Respiratory Monitoring Solutions (RMS) portfolio within Medtronic’s Minimally Invasive Therapies Group (MITG) in The West.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Conducts on-site education and/or consulting.
  • Supports field personnel in providing the best possible outcomes and service for Medtronic customers.
  • Partners with sales colleagues to develop and execute plans of sales for within one or more business unit(s).
  • Participates in conventions, forums, and meetings to increase product awareness.
  • Works closely with Clinical Lead, Clinical Management and Regional Sales team to provide customer case and sales support.
  • Identifies and facilitates execution on growth opportunities with Sales and Clinical Support Team.
  • Serves as a technical resource to support sales of a specific medical product or solution.
  • The successful candidate will assist in driving revenue growth and sustaining business relationships established by marketing and education efforts. The CS will provide competitive and customer reports.
  • Efficient handling of Field Actions and Adverse Events.
  • Work with hospital educator/department head to develop implementation plan for new products being introduced.
  • Development of long-term relationships with customers (including health-care professionals, purchasing, materials management, hospital administration, select public/private payer Groups, professional and patient associations, etc.)
  • The ability to self-organize and cover a territory requiring 50-60% travel.
  • Experience as an educator or team lead in ER, OR, ICU, RT, NICU, PICU, Endoscopy or similar.
  • Strong computer literacy.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is Required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.

Nice to Have

  • Healthcare education in Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, or other allied health.
  • Clinical experience gained either as an employee of a hospital or as an external vendor.
  • Experience in clinician and patient education.
