Provides sales consultation and work flow analysis of customer medication management processes to identify inefficiencies, safety concerns, revenue augmentation, cost reduction, regulatory non-compliance, waste and drug diversion opportunities encompassing all medications, including IV compounding. Based on current state gaps and future goals, this role will create business case including recommendations for workflow redesign, practice change, and accompanying BD technology solutions to facilitate the creation of a shared service center with 340b.

Job Description

What is expected of you for success in your role:

  • Excels in healthcare sales support oriented role
  • Demonstrates comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of medication management processes across the Pharmacy enterprise, especially those processes, practices, and workflows associated with shared service centers (i.e. centralized automated dispensing replenishment, centralized medication packaging, and centralized IV compounding)
  • Demonstrates current state knowledge of the healthcare industry, and BD's medication management dispensing solutions.
  • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the 340b program across the Pharmacy enterprise, including applying 340b requirements of shared service centers.
  • Expertly performs complex customer current state assessments, and creates compelling future state business case to meet customer's strategic objectives/vision for the successful creation of shared service center.
  • Is an experienced communicator and collaborator with stakeholders (internal and external) to drive alignment on recommendations and proposed solutions. Dynamic speaking skills and excellent business writing skills required.
  • Demonstrates leadership by being customer focused, displaying strategic thinking, having a global and company mindset, focusing on results, skill growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategically works with sales and customer service organization to prioritize activities.
  • Handles multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizes tasks based on organizational need and judgment, and handles working independently in remote office situations productively.
  • Has a bias toward action, is self-motivated, a self-starter, and is able to work with minimal direction.Mentors internal staff regarding best demonstrated practices.

Accountabilities:

  • Provides clinical consulting support primarily for sales, but also marketing and development.
  • Provides sales consultation and work flow analysis of customer medication management processes to identify inefficiencies, safety concerns, revenue augmentation, cost reduction, regulatory non-compliance, waste and drug diversion opportunities encompassing all medications, including IV compounding. Based on current state gaps and future goals, this role will create business case including recommendations for workflow redesign, practice change, and accompanying BD technology solutions to facilitate the creation of a shared service center with 340b.
  • Collaborates with sales, implementation, and other stakeholders to develop customer specific strategic BD solution roadmaps and provides input to program/project plans for the implementation of recommended sales solutions.
  • Collaborates and builds strong relationships with multiple Sales team members, Product Managers, Product Research and Development teams, Implementation & Support teams, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Training.
  • Stays active and engaged with appropriate healthcare related organizations to stay abreast of healthcare trends and changes in Pharmacy/Nursing practice that impact our business or customers. Acts as a thought leader to readily share healthcare knowledge with internal and external customers.
  • Functions as the voice of the Customer.
  • Utilizes up to date knowledge of the healthcare industry to provide clinical input for new product development and software enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree required; Advanced degree preferred
  • Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist required
  • 10-15 years of experience in an acute care hospital environment,
  • At least 5 years of hospital departmental management/leadership experience required, preferably Pharmacy management across multiple hospitals
  • Operational experience with managing a shared service center and 340b
  • Up to 75% travel required, including nights and some weekends
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
