Ensure clinical services meet clinical risk standards, which includes high risk case review and oversight; critical incident reporting review; monitoring grievances, policies and procedures pertaining to risk issues; and serving as agency-wide Safety Officer.




*** Develop and administer clinical risk management program, including trending, reviewing, and taking action on Critical Incident Reports, producing presentations that outline findings, explain risk positions, and recommend changes.


*** Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise policies and procedures for general operation pertaining to risk management and safety.


*** Monitor access to clinical care, follow up of high-risk and complex clinical scenarios, clinical outcome and performance data, and rapid coordination of services for identified clients.


*** Identify areas of actual or potential risk and mitigating factors; oversee prevention of possible injuries to clients, visitors and employees; and prevent or limit financial loss.


*** Identify and investigate potential areas of risk by gathering risk-related data from internal and external resources and developing and implementing corrective action plans.


*** Analyze and report significant risk trends, patterns, and impact to appropriate departments and committees based on ongoing peer review.


*** Periodically audit clinical charts to provide guidance to management and employees around risk.


*** Ensure efficient and effective interface between all departments in relation to risk issues, including successful implementation of new processes as directed.


*** Acts as a resource regarding all issues relating to risk management, including directing risk management issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.


*** Interface with committees to ensure compliance with safety legislation, industry practices, and high risk clinical care situations.


*** Oversee client representative program, staff, and grievance line.


*** Manage members of the quality improvement team including hiring, coaching, supervision, and development of the Licensing and Internship Program.
