The Clinical Psychologist Supervisor provides an advanced level of clinical mental health services, along with coordinated leadership in conjunction with the Program Director. The Clinical Psychologist Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that staff who report to them are providing quality client care while promoting evidence based practices. The position requires clinical and administrative management skills to ensure that services are delivered to meet discipline standards for clinical, accreditation and fiscal accountability. The Clinical Psychologist Supervisor will conduct performance improvement measures and oversee improvements, while working to develop and improve program services.

Primary clinical duties include crisis intervention, assessment and diagnosis, short-term stabilization, psychotherapy, psychological testing, evaluations, and consultations. Clinical supervision, educational presentations about clinical topics, and research activities may also be provided. Services are based on sound theoretical principles, with knowledge of the special issues and needs of the population served. Primary supervisory duties include oversight of clinical practice and staff including recruitment and retention. The incumbent develops strategies for the services provided to meet the multifaceted needs of a diverse population, with attention to the policies and procedures of TMC Behavioral Health, and is expected to interface with internal and external service providers.

Required Skills

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D in Psychology
  • Licensed in the State of Missouri as a Psychologist, or license-eligible.
  • Must have knowledge of psychiatric terminology, the process of diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the theory and practice of psychotherapy and have basic research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational ability, and social facility are required for the ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team, and to provide education to staff and in the community.
  • Must be able to demonstrate good independent judgment, adapt to new duties, and work in a changing environment.
  • Entry level supervisory experience or natural leadership abilities.
