About Summerlin Hospital:

Summerlin Hospital is a 454-bed hospital featuring emergency services; a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month; a Children’s Medical Center with a NICU, a pediatric ICU and separate pediatric ER; advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women’s health and oncology care. Summerlin Hospital is an accredited Chest Pain with PCI facility and a Primary Stroke Center, and has received multiple awards from the American Heart Association Get With the Guidelines program.

Description/Purpose Of Position:

The Oncology Clinical Specialist provides comprehensive oncology pharmaceutical care through program oversight, integrated drug distribution, patient counseling and teaching. In this role, the Clinical Oncology Specialist will continue to develop our expanding Adult and Pediatric Oncology Program by working closely with all members of the care team in policy development, workflow management and continuing education activities.

 

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:  Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) or Doctoral Degree (PharmD).

Experience:  Minimum of one year (1) required, preferably in a hospital setting.  Post graduate residency.  Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) preferred.

Technical Skills:  Automation experience with knowledge of reporting features (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.)  Experience working with an electronic health record (EHR).  Excellent interpersonal communication skills/  Proficient in MS Office.

License/Certification:  Current Pharmacist License in the State of Nevada

Testing:  Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
