The Clinical Informaticist – BPM will help build and implement informatics business process flows, business rules and process analytics services and solutions for multiple enterprise care management applications.

  • Works closely as part of a cross functional team to articulate the informatics requirements necessary for development and delivery of new capabilities
  • Works closely with clinical and product leaders to help determine new care management functionalities and their translation into informatics artifacts – business process flows, business rules, predictive models and medical terminology value sets
  • Provides “architectural look ahead” to:
    • Translate Clinical and Evidence based Guidelines into Clinical/Risk based Rules, BPM Flows and Predictive Models
    • Develop re-usable templates and patterns for clinical rules related to Condition Identification, Alerting, Notification, Medication Safety and other domains
    • Develop re-usable Building blocks and Process Fragments for Care Management Tasks and Protocols
    • Develop re-usable templates and patterns for Rules and Predictive Models for Patient Segmentation and Risk Stratification
    • Develop re-usable templates and patterns for Analytics Templates for Clinical Program Measurement and Effectiveness, including Process and Clinical Analytics
  • Works closely with business analysts and technical architects to integrate these informatics artifacts into software components such as BPM and business rules engine which can be leveraged by enterprise care management applications
  • Packages information in new, useful and actionable ways including development of new stratifications, triggers, actions/tasks, business process flows, measures and classifications as well as business rules for data mapping, data transformation and opportunity prioritization.
  • Determine research/analytic requirements by consulting with internal and external customers. Provide recommendations for modifying analyses, rules and predictive models when appropriate.
  • Ensure dissemination and “marketing” of insights and achievements both within the company and at industry forums such as AMIA, HIMSS and other health informatics conferences
  • Build, coach, manage, and mentor a high-performing team.  Ensure effective staff training and development to increase competency.

Required:

  • Masters Degree in Medical Infomatics, Computer Science or Related field and/or a clinical background (MD or RN). 
  • Minimum of five (5) years directly related clinical experience, healthcare informatics or healthcare operations, including leadership, and/or education
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the design, development, and continuous improvement of complex healthcare data systems, tools, and reports.
  • Experience with Business Rules, Business Process Modeling and AppliedStatistics/Machine Learning for Predictive Modeling
  • Advanced technical skills including data modeling and manipulation as well as expertise working with large relational databases and OLAP tools. 
  • Knowledge of the Content/Structure of Medical Terminologies – such as Snomed, RxNorm, LOINC, ICD9, ICD10;  Risk based classifications such as Gaps in Care, and Metrics Standards such as HEDIS, PQRS and others.
  • Knowledge and experience with Healthcare IT related standards such as FHIR, CCD and others
  • Knowledge and experience with Semantic Web (RDF, OWL) standards and healthcare ontologies
  • A strong customer service focus with the ability to develop effective working relationships, required.
  • Current knowledge of clinical practices and related information systems and computer applications, required. 
  • Maintains current knowledge of trends and advances in clinical practice and healthcare informatics, as well as new developments and innovations in hardware and software technology.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem identification, resolution and analytical skills are essential, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
