 Job Requirements     Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing or Adult Education; If Master’s Degree is not in nursing, a BSN is
Required.
Experience: At least five years of previous experience in an approved specialty area in the acute care setting; at least five years’ experience in designing, developing and evaluating education programs in an acute care setting.
Training: AHA Basic Life Support current card for at least 90 days after hire date.
Professional certification in a designated specialty; ANCC certification in Professional
Nursing Development is preferred.
License: Current Florida RN Licensure
Other Demonstrates a commitment to life-long learning. Membership in professional/academic organizations is preferred.
Demonstrates the ability to use advanced computer skills; MS Windows, including Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Job Description     The Clinical Education Specialist is responsible for facilitating the development of clinical excellence for Lee Memorial Health System by participation and consultation in community, system wide, campus/unit based performance improvement initiative and staff/ leadership development programs that promote staff competence and patient safety.

The clinical education specialist acts as a liaison and LMHS representative with community organizations that provide education and development to staff. Collaborates with local universities to support the clinical education of students within LMHS departments. Participates in partnership initiatives with local affiliates to promote evidence based practice and research projects to improve student/staff competence and patient safety.

Designs, organizes, implements, and evaluates competence and educational programs that facilitate the professional growth, skill development, initial/ongoing competence, and attainment of standards of care for indirect and direct care providers across the system. Evaluates documents and reports outcomes of projects or programs by establishment of specific metrics; makes modifications as needed to address current issues.

Education programs will be developed, implemented, and evaluated using nursing theory, nursing clinical expertise, standards of practice, and adult education principles.

Actively participates and collaborates in multi-disciplinary unit, campus and system wide performance improvement teams to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, staff competence, and standards of care.
