The Clinical Director, Cardiovascular Services is responsible for managing and supervising the cardiology staff and directing the day-to-day operations of hospital-based invasive (cardiac catheterization laboratory including diagnostic, interventional and electrophysiology), and non-invasive (EKG/stress testing, echo, vascular laboratory, and nuclear medicine) services.

Reporting to the AVP Cardiovascular Service Line, the Clinical Director is the accountable leader for the delivery of high quality patient care, patient experience, budget and fiscal management, operating efficiencies, staff engagement and satisfaction, and compliance with hospital and regulatory policies for hospital-based cardiovascular services. The Clinical Director is responsible for assuring compliance with institutional policies and procedures, and relative Joint Commission and CMS standards.


The Clinical Director will interface directly with the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital (WDH) Medical Director, Cardiology; the WDH Medical Director, Vascular Surgery; the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) – WDH Electrophysiology Program Director on quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, patient flow and operational efficiencies, and clinical program development.


Operating within a highly matrixed environment, the Clinical Director will also interface directly with the CNO/Vice President of Patient Care Services for issues on nursing practice, and with the Vice President, Wentworth Health Partners for coordination with provider office practice operations.

Qualifications

Experience:
Minimum of 5 to 7 years progressive cardiovascular (Cath Lab) nursing experience, as well as experience in health care management with an understanding of clinical program development. Managerial experience in invasive, non-invasive cardiology and vascular services is required.
Education:
BSN degree required. MSN or MBA or Masters is a related field, preferred.
Licensure:
NH/Compact RN license.
